21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

We know God has big things in store for LIFE CHURCH this year and we’re excited to partner with Him.

If you’re new to LIFE Church, this fast is something we do every January.  21 days of fasting (whatever that looks like for you) and prayer.  Many use the “Daniel fast” model,  but we know the Lord honors every type of fast brought to him with a worshipful heart. Our goal is to come together and connect with the Lord as a church body for the coming year. We encourage everyone to participate through daily prayer and fasting in some way. 

There are several types of fasting. The one you choose is between you & God. He will honor your best sacrifice.

Full Fast: Drink only liquids (you can adjust and establish the number of days)

The Daniel Fast: Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and juice. Eat fruits and vegetables.

Partial Fast: Sometimes called a “Jewish Fast”, this involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.

Selective Fast: This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. Maybe an entire food group ( dairy, refined sugars, fried foods, etc) or a particular food item (coffee, chocolate, etc.)

Can I fast Something other than food? Yes! This is called a “Soul Fast”. This is a great option if you have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. You can ask the Lord what He would like you to fast from. Here are some examples of things we’ve seen people fast from over the past years: Social Media, TV, sports, hobbies, or anything that takes your focus & time. Use that sacrificed time to devote to prayer and time with the Lord.

We will be meeting for prayer on Wednesdays, January 7, 14 & 21 from 6:30 – 7:30pm in the upper room.
